Lookin Good
Blake enjoys picking out his own clothes, shoes, coat, etc. I, too, like that he can exert his independence in choosing what he wears. Some days he wears jeans and a sweatshirt, other days he picks out his "handsome clothes" and wears a nice button down shirt with khaki pants. Today, though, he took me by surprise. He wore a comfy Nike outfit and accessorised with a necktie and a pair of stretch gloves. He was so pleased with his look, he was happy to pose for some pictures. Thank goodness, because I never want to forget this day!
My handsome little Man
Blake the Builder
We purchased a new dining room table because our previous one was returned due to manufacturer defect. Blake always wants to help Daddy "fix" so last night Tim let him help put the table together. Blake put all the screws and bolts in place and used the little wrench to tighten them. Tim just gave them a final touch to make sure they were tight. He is such a big boy and was so proud of his work with Daddy.

Easter 2008
We had a wonderful Easter weekend with Uncle Allen, Mimi, and Pa. The boys had so much fun, but they were in tears when Uncle Allen had to leave Monday morning. It is hard with him so far away, but the boys always pick up right where they left off every time they see him. We love him and miss him very much!

Cool Kids
It must be hard being Bryce . . . he's so COOL he's gotta wear shades
He's still cool even if they are upside down
Close up of my man Blake
Ahh, sweet baby Lauren, she's so CUTE! We LOVE our God daughter and so do the boys. These three crazy kids all squeeze onto their little couch every time she comes over.
Too bad I can't get a picture with all three of them looking!
We are gearing up for a fun Easter weekend. My parents are coming tonight and my brother is on his way from Virginia today. I am off now to run some errands for the Easter Bunny!

Go Green
In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day yesterday all members of the O'Mara family were decked out in festive clothing. I mean come on, with a name like O'Mara it is an obligation!!
We even celebrated by enjoying a glass of green milk with our dinner. This is a far cry from the way we used to celebrate in the pre-kids era; but I prefer green milk with my kids anyway!

Dad's Away: Mom & Boys Play
Tim is out of town on a "guys weekend" so the boys and I had some fun of our own. The weather was so nice on Friday that the boys spent some much needed time outside playing and riding bikes. Then we went to McDonald's play land for dinner with Kara and Lauren followed by grocery shopping. The boys were SO good and I was SO happy!
Today we went to see the Easter Bunny and we saw our friend Taylor there. Blake would only get his picture taken if Taylor could be with him; so here are Blake, Bryce, and Tay with the Bunny. I am actually pleased with this picture because this is the closest Bryce has ever gotten to any character without crying. So what if he didn't smile, maybe next year!
Then we went to The Children's Museum and it was so much fun! It was our first time going there and they have so many hands on exhibits for the kids including a stage with dress up clothes. Here is princess Taylor trying to decide between these two handsome princes.

The Boo Boo Blues
Bryce has had a "boo boo" on his ankle for about a week now. It is scabbed and healing just fine, but when he gets crabby he decides to make a huge deal of it. As the boo boo blues set in once more he asked that I take a picture and you can even kind of see it:
He pouted heavily to make sure I knew how he was feeling. He was crying and carrying on, but didn't mind pausing to pose for the camera. He's so dramatic . . . he MUST get that from his father ;)
One more pose before the boo boo blues come to an end, at least for now.
My cool guy, Blake, isn't phased by his brothers dramatic displays
He is, however, excited to watch the Tigers this season!! Thanks to Uncle Allen he is looking good in his Tigers jersey. Both boys love sports including baseball, football, soccer, golf, and basketball. They are always playing pretend games with imaginary balls. It is hilarious to watch a 2 year old and a 4 year old play an entire round of imaginary golf with pretend golf balls and pretend golf clubs. File that under things to do inside during long winter months.

Peanut Butter Blake
Blake is a lucky boy. He received a birthday package from his "#1 Fan in New York City" (AKA Rachael, Uncle Allen's girlfriend) and he was so excited when he opened the box and found the items inside. He really liked the Lightning McQueen jersey and the Dr. Seuss book, but you would have thought the kid won a million dollars when he saw a jar of peanut butter!!!!!! He said, "My very own jar of peanut butter? I cannot believe this, I have my very own and I can make my own peanut butter sandwiches!" He hopped over to the kitchen, pulled over a stool, grabbed the bread and his plastic alligator knife and made one sandwich for him and one for Bryce.
Yesterday I asked him if he wanted to help me make his lunch and he said, "Yes, I'll be right back." He walked up to his room and brought down his jar of peanut butter, I didn't even know it was missing from the cupboard. Who knew a personal peanut butter jar would be such a hit?

Happy Birthday Blake!!
My baby Blake turned 4 years old today and he had the best birthday!! He started his day by picking out balloons and then picking up his Best Friend, Taylor.
Then his Best Buddies, Collin, Ty, and Asa came over to our house for a Pirate Party
Blake and his friends LOVED the ice cream cone cupcakes we made the night before
Blake had so much fun with his friends, but they seriously did a number on our house. Toys were EVERYWHERE!!!! Here is a snapshot of the Toy Room:
When Daddy got home from work we gave Blake his present from Mom, Dad & Bryce
As I reminisced on the early Blakey days Blake told me that he really wants to be a big boy, so I shouldn't be sad. With that said, I am so proud of my 4 Year Old Boy!!

He has been asking for a camera for the last 6 months,
so this was the reaction we were looking for!

Blake is almost 4
Blake will be 4 years old on Tuesday, March 4th, but we kick started the celebration on Saturday at Mimi and Pa's house. Grandma and Grandpa O'Mara came over and Blake had lunch, cake and opened presents with all his grandparents. He received great gifts such as a soccer net, spider man action figure and some "handsome clothes".
Blake chose "Pirates" as his birthday theme this year and his cake was really COOL!!
The cake even came with an eye patch for the Birthday Boy.
Blake was wearing Pa's glasses and instantly advanced into adulthood. Here he is having a very serious discussion with Grandpa.
Then Pa wore the eye patch for a while as he snoozed in the chair.
Now Blake eagerly awaits his actual birthday on Tuesday when he will be joined by his friends at our house for a Pirate Party!
Bread Making 101
On Saturday I was lucky enough to take baking lessons from the GREAT Emily Booms. Emily is my friend Leah's Mom and she bakes the Best bread, cinnamon rolls, and doughnuts I have ever tasted. She filled me in on her secrets to success and I can't wait to try it on my own!
3 Peas in 2 Pods
Leah and her sister-in-law, Nicole, who is due in June
Bread Making 101 Class participants: Jan (Leah's sister), Nicole, Leah, and Me
Here is our dough, all rised and ready to go!!
It was such a fun Saturday learning from the Master and my family enjoyed all of the samples I brought home. I spent a lot of time at the Booms household during highschool, so it was nice to hang out again with a family I have known and loved for so long.
Here is Emily teaching me how to roll and cut the cinnamon rolls,
which turned out to be DELICIOUS by the way ;)
She popped out since the last time I saw her . . . too CUTE!
