Shopping gone wrong

As most of you know, I take my boys everywhere with me and they are used to being in public and understand that I have certain expectations of them. One day last week I picked them up at Nancy's after work and we headed to Kohl's to use a 30% off coupon (too good of a deal to pass up). While we were there Blake and Bryce behaved like two terrible kids you see on TV when Super Nanny has been called in to correct their behavior. The were crying, whining, not listening, fighting over who gets to ride in the stroller while the other one wants to be held. Blake weighs 44lbs and Bryce weighs 37lbs, while I do have some decent Mommy Muscles, I can't hold them for very long ;) I was trying to shop as fast as I could, and scooted the boys into the dressing room with me so I could try on a couple things.
While we were in there I took off my pants and Blake started yelling, "WHO WANTS TO SPANK THE BIG BIG BUTT? HEY BRYCE, YOU WANT TO SPANK THE BIG BIG BUTT?" I immediately heard the packed fitting room quietly erupt with laughter. As I talked to Blake about keeping his voice down and being nice, Bryce started banging on the mirror with a hanger, then dropped to the floor and peered into the next fitting room saying, "I SEE YOU".
Oh my goodness, we hightailed it out of there after that and I plan on leaving the boys home next time I plan on clothes shopping!!!

Mackinaw Trip

It was another Woolman ~ O'Mara family outing, this time all the way to Mackinaw City and a visit to Mackinaw Island. Monica's Mom has a BEAUTIFUL cottage on the water in Mackinaw and we enjoyed the view for 4 days. Four kids under 4 plus four adults makes for a busy vacation, but it went GREAT!

Monica and I arrived on Thursday and walked around Mackinaw City with the kids stopping at the water under the bridge, a park playland, and a pizza place. Aside from a poop explosion that resulted in an outfit in the trash and a sponge bath for two on a park bench it was a good afternoon and evening. (Don't worry, I still love you Jenna)
Here it is, "the big big bridge"

Bryce tried his hardest to catch some seagulls, but went home empty handed!
Blake, Bryce & Taylor down by the bridge
Brad & Monica . . . aren't they cute

If you look hard you can see the bridge in the background
Just the four of us on the Island

The kids loved the Ferry ride to the Island; however, they were then paranoid the entire time we were there that our boat had left us. Between Blake, Bryce, and Tay we had to answer questions every 5 minutes about our boat coming back for us.

All 4 kids togetherJenna was giddy as she gobbled some ice cream

See . . . this girl loves her ice cream

It was great family fun, thanks Woolmans!

I'm a Grammy??

After Quinn went home today Blake announced that he now has 2 babies. He said his babies are twin girls (this is a nod to the Brining and Dunneback twins) and their names are Susie and Spot (two puppy dog names from his favorite book). He informed me that I am the Grammy and Tim is their Pa, and we babysat for them while he went to work.
Here is the proud Papa

This is a video of Blake talking about his babies and what they all like to eat. Probably boring for those of you who have little girls that play house all the time . . . this is new to me OK?!

Play time with Quinn

We are so lucky we got to spend the day with our nephew Quinn while his Mom and Dad went to visit a friend. He was such a good boy, all smiles and laughs. Blake and Bryce try hard to be little helpers and are asking for a new baby for our house . . . but Mommy says not yet!
Quinn after his nap
All three boys . . . Blake & Bryce insisted on the same pose we did before
Tim sportin the front carrier, he and Quinn spent about an hour walking around the house. I am not too sure who enjoyed it more, Quinn or Tim???
Big Smiles for Aunt Rachel . . . Whoo-hoo, I finally got him to love me :)
Thanks for coming over Quinn, we love you xoxox

Happy Birthday Jenna!

Jenna is 1 year old and she had the perfect backyard party to celebrate!
Monica & Jenna enjoying her ice cream
Lydia really got into her ice cream sandwich and was an adorable chocolate mess
The kids played in the pool, the sprinkler, and even the rain

Here is the group of party going kids
Playing in the sprinkler/drinking fountain
All the kids played great together, but Blake is pretty proud of the connection he made with Grace B. last night. He told me, "Tay is always my girlfriend, but I think I have another one, too." Grace's Dad, however, was not quite as happy with the new found relationship as Blake & Grace were! We may start to see a decline in our party invitations if our boys keep chasing after every body's daughters.

Weekend at Higgins Lake

Our friends were kind enough to invite us to their cottage on Higgins Lake and we had the best time! We were joined by wonderful people, amazing food, and a birthday celebration to boot!

Blake & Bryce met a new friend named Alex and all three boys LOVED the bunk beds
The boys were fine helpers preparing for a birthday celebration. Blake didn't have much success blowing up balloons, but he did frost the cupcakes for Mrs. Lepri
How many can you hold Blake?
Mr. Lepri made special Bear Pancakes for all three boys
Out on the boat we had lunch and snacks. These two gotta have their daily apples, and Bryce went to town on some hot and spicy pringles!
Higgins Lake is so nice for kids! The Lepri family achored their army of boats and jet skis out at this sand bar so the boys could play in shallow water.
Mr. Lepri enjoyed a relaxing rest on his raft, until Blake & Alex snuck up and gave him a scare!

The Lepri Family Cottage
It is so beautiful!
View from their yard

While we were there Blake even developed his first true boyhood crush on Lexi's friend Ali. All the girls were so good with the kids, but Blake couldn't stop smiling when he looked at Ali. He sat on her lap at the campfire and blushes every time we talk about her. It is so funny to see him react like this over an 18 year old girl. And to think Tim was worried because he went through a phase when he liked purses and shoes ;0 No worries here, Dad!

How did this happen?

Blake has attended Vacation Bible School every day this week and it is from 9am - 12pm. This seems like a lot for a 4 year old, 3 hours - 5 days in a row, but Blake has done just fine. He walks in, says hello to his teacher, gets his name tag and never looks back. I should be so happy for him and proud that he enjoys himself in a school setting, right? But I am not!! I am sad that he is so grown up :( This is my little Blakey, my first born, how does this happen so quickly??
On the way to drop him off at VBS he said, "Mom I am almost 5 right?" I said not until March 4th. He said, "Yeah, but that is almost here then I can go to kindergarten." Blake has always wanted to grow up, even when he was a baby he tried sitting, standing and walking (at 8.5 months) all too soon. He is always pushing for the next milestone even while I am capturing the current one on camera. He must have sensed my sadness because he said, "Don't worry, Mom, I'll come back after kindergarten." He is so sweet, I am going to love him so much that no woman will ever be good enough for him . .. JUST KIDDING, that is a quote from Monica on "Friends".
