Catching Up

We have been buzzing around enjoying all of the lovely Spring days and I have neglected my blog! I made time tonight to provide some updates because I didn't want to forget these stories I want to share with you:
Blake and Bryce have been busy "going to work" and "fixing" all of the so called broken items around the house. They have been practicing their teamwork as they say and using their toy tools to hammer, drill, and screw more things than you can imagine. Blake even has a book that uses a wrench to fix a car in the story.
Bryce has been loading up his "trailer" with items that need to be fixed. Yes he has a GREAT imagination, I have no clue how he thought of hooking a little couch over his fire truck and calling it a trailer, but it is hilarious. He even makes the beep beep sounds when he puts it in reverse!
Now here is my Blakey all grown up with his "spikey" hair because he wants to look like Uncle Sean. He came home from school today with blue paint all over his pants (not pictured, already in the washer) and was very coy when I asked him about the mess. He finally broke down and told me that he painted at school, but he can't tell me what he did because it is a secret. Are you kidding me??? Since when can a 4 year old keep a secret? He has not ever kept any secret that I told him and he is always calling me out at the most inconvenient times, so this is a milestone. I am going to be in trouble because this kid is getting GOOD!!!!!!! I am guessing (because that's how I am) that it is a Mother's Day present.
****NOTE to all Males reading this blog, Sunday, May 11th is Mother's Day and YES you should get your wife something and put your kids name on it :) Love you, Honey!!

Play Date!

We had a play date with the Woolman women on Tuesday. My friend Monica came over with Taylor and Jenna and we rode bikes and cars, went for a walk, played in the backyard, and had hot dogs on the grill. The boys LOVE playing with "Tay" and baby girl Jenna is going to be running around with them before we know it. Lucky for me she's not there yet and I got my cuddle time with her :)
Just hangin out
Taylor poses for the camera
Blake is already picking up chicks!
Blake always tells me that Taylor is his girlfriend and he is going to marry her. Then he follows it up by saying, "But don't tell Brad!" (Shhh, that's her dad)

Funnies

When Tim isn't home for dinner I usually play restaurant with the kids. I talk in a southern accent, seat them at the table, tell the the special and take their orders. I always call them "sir" and the other day after I took their orders Blake pipes up and says, "Excuse, me, Ham, I'd like another glass of milk please". I told him my name is "Mam", and he said "OK, Ham".
***********************************************************************************
We had a little cookout last night because the weather was so nice. We rarely eat hot dogs, so the kids have not had the opportunity to try them. Last night Bryce ate an entire hot dog on a bun with a little ketchup and I was telling him this morning how proud I am of him for trying the hot dog. Blake must have over heard this conversation from the other room because all of the sudden he grabbed my hand and said, "Mom, are you so proud of me for trying the 'bessert'?" (aka dessert)
I thought to myself, Wow Blake what a stretch, you tried something chocolate! However, it was obvious he needed some affection and praise, so I said "Yes, Blake, I am very proud of you every time you try something new".
Kids are so funny!

AHHHHH

It feels so good to be outside! We are finally able to get outside and enjoy nice weather and the boys got their fill today. Tim was able to go golfing for the first time this year, while Blake, Bryce, and I played with everything possible. Mimi was even here for some of the fun!

We started with battery powered trucks in the back yard,
this is one of their most treasured outdoor activities!

Brycie's Tonka Truck is just right for him (nice and slow)
Blake's car is fast and he tools it around the yard like a pro.
He's giving double thumbs up for his first time out this year!
Then they played in the sand box, which they love but I could really do without.
Everyone knows how much I love getting dirty . . . YUCK!

Then we moved to the front yard and took the Harley Bikes for a spin!

We grilled some steaks and shrimp and made Blake a peanut butter sandwich, then scrubbed the filthy boys in the bathtub. Now they have their Super Man jammies on with their Capes and they are settling down for bedtime. What a perfect Day, WE LOVE SPRING!!

Dance Party!

Put your hands in the air like you just don't care!! It's dance party time and we were so excited for Lauren to join our party. She got right into it bouncing her legs, waving her arms, bobbing her head ---
Then outta nowhere she Dropped it like its HOT
Where did this girl get her moves . . . Kara???
It was so darn CUTE I couldn't resist posting the pictures!

Who you callin FAT?

This is a story about a boy and a horse . . . .
I picked the boys up from Nancy's today and Brycie had a FAT LIP!! I don't know if the pictures even do it justice, it is so swollen and red; but Brycie is taking it like a tough guy.
So the story goes that Brycie was riding the rocking horse like the little cowboy he is and as he picked up speed his hand slipped off the handle and he hit his mouth on the horse's head. He's pretty upset with that Blue Horse, too. He was saying "Bad Horsey, for hurting my lip" . . . we all know it had nothing to do with the operator :)
My poor beat up child
Trying to SMILE
Snuggles and/or tackles from brother always make him feel better!
Poor Baby!

Another Day, Another Look

Blake is about as stylish as they come!! Again with the neck tie and stretch gloves, but today he threw in a twist with a backwards hat and some goggles! This kid knows how to work it.

To Tattle or Not to Tattle

Blake and Bryce were playing with a ball on the floor as I got ready this morning. I reminded them to keep the ball on the floor because I didn't want anyone or anything getting hurt or broken. Shortly after I left the room, Bryce appeared in the bathroom and said with a sad face, "Blake hit my cheek with the ball". As soon as the words come out of Bryce's mouth Blake appeared and crouched down to speak to Bryce face to face. Blake said, "Bryce you were laughing when the ball hit you." Bryce said with a pouty lip, "Yes". Blake then says, "Did it hurt?" Bryce said, "No" Blake looked him straight in the eye with me over his shoulder and sternly said, "If you didn't cry and it didn't hurt, then DON'T tell her!"
