"I look like Daddy!"

I am so proud of Blake and Bryce!! My Aunt Tammy usually cuts Blake's hair, but she has been having an awful time with blood clots in her legs and will be having surgery in May. I have been nervous to take them anywhere else, but Bryce was in need of his 1st real haircut and Blake's hair was getting really long. Blake flat out told me, "You will not be proud of me, I will cry". So, I braved it anyway and went to one of those walk in places, BoRics, and we lucked out with the sweetest lady who took her time and had a lot of patience. Bryce was first, he got to wear a really cool animal cape and he sat perfectly still on my lap for the entire haircut, so he got his first Sucker as a reward!! Blake, who was VERY resistant at first suddenly became jealous that Bryce got to wear a cape and got a sucker; so, he decided he wanted a haircut, too. He did so well, he even carried on a conversation with the lady about his big boy bike and that he is "Three two years old". I wish I had an extra set of hands so I could have taken pictures, it was so cute and I couldn't have been prouder of both of them. Once we got home, Blake ran into the bathroom, looked at himself in the mirror and said, "I look like Daddy!". Here are some pictures of my handsome Big Boys . . .

This is Bryce saying, "CHEESE", drool and all.
These are the pictures I took after I got done cleaning up the gallon of spilled milk on the floor last night. As you can see, Bryce was quite pleased with himself. That little stinker!!!! Oh, his hair looks so long in these pictures.

The Joys of Boys

Ah, yes . . . the joys of boys:
They keep me hopping let me tell you. They have this incredible ability to go from cute and cuddly boys to crazy monsters in no time flat. Bryce spilled an entire gallon of milk all over the kitchen floor, then dumped Blake's cereal by the table, and while I was cleaning the mess he went to play in the toilet. Nice! While I am tending to Blake, I can't take my eye off Bryce for one second or he is getting into something. Meanwhile, Blake told me "I need attention, too". When Tim travels it is really tough to keep my head above water sometimes with the 2 boys. They both need so much attention and it is tough after working all day to come home and give equally to each child. After spinning in circles trying to keep up it doesn't seem that silly to cry over spilled milk :( BUT, just when I feel burned out, Blake grabs a book, we sit on the floor and both Blake and Bryce are kissing and hugging me and listening to a story. I wouldn't trade the joys of boys for anything, not ever!!!

Here are my little monsters in Reversed Roles, Blake wanted to sit in the "Baby Chair" while Bryce thinks he is a Big Boy.

Here is my Bryce, all ready for summer. We had a perfect weekend and were outside for 3 days straight with 70-80 degree weather. Blake and Bryce were in heaven. Blake wouldn't let me take his picture, but as you could have probably guessed Blake was wearing a Red & Blue version of the shirt Bryce has on and the same hat and shorts. Oh how I LOVE to coordinate!!!!! Don't worry Tim and I almost never match :)
One more thing, I really know how to ROCK the Girly Mullet. My hair cut has gotten Rave Reviews and I think it is getting to be more manageable. Sorry to disappoint, but I am not ready for pictures yet. Maybe a few more weeks. HA HA HA.

The World We Live In

As the events at Virginia Tech unfolded I was overwhelmed with sadness and dread. Those poor innocent kids and their families and friends, it is an awful tragedy. As a parent to 2 young boys all I can think about is how we will do our best at home to raise honest, faithful, good kids only to send them out into this world of hatred and violence where anything can happen, even at School! The worrying will never end, it will only escalate. I guess the only thing I can do is pray that God can reach these troubled individuals who are roaming around this world.

Hairy Day

So, have you ever gotten a bad haircut?? I did today and I am embarrased to go to work tomorrow. Isn't that so silly? I know that appearances shouldn't matter that much and it is what on the inside that counts, but man oh man can a bad haircut make you feel insecure! I asked for long layers and now I have so many layers I don't know what to do with. YIKES!!!! It is almost like a girly mullet :(
If only I could wear a hat for the next two months.
PS- Don't expect to see any pictures of me posted any time soon. Sorry, I know you must be curious.

SOLD!

It is finally official, we closed yesterday on both houses and everything went as smooth as we had hoped. Ahh, yes it feels nice. Now, we are waiting for our money from the insurance company to come, hopefully it doesn't take too long. I have a very long list of items I need to replace. Once the check gets here it will be GAME ON, I will start shopping like I have never shopped before, hehe!

Easter Fun

Mr. Blake was thrilled as can be to wear his cool new tie. A little boy that sat behind us in church had the same exact tie on, so Blake said he had a "new tie friend".
Smiley Guy Bryce simply enjoyed the weekend with all of his grandparents. We celebrated with Mimi and Pa on Saturday by having our traditional Easter Tacos and then had ham and potatoes with Grandma and Grandpa O'Mara on Sunday.
Bryce is especially impressed with just about everything he has set his eyes on lately. As you can see in the photo above, he was sawing "WOW"!!! He only says it a few thousand times a day :)
Another attempt at a family photo, maybe one day we will get a decent one.
When we arrived back home the Easter Bunny left Blake a Big Boy Bike, helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. He was so exicted and we let him ride it around the house for practice before he hits the streets.
All in All, we had a wonderful Easter.

Blakeisms

At 3 years old, Blake is becoming such a Big Boy. He wants to do everything himself and as his vocabulary continuously and exponentially grows I thought I would share with you some of his favorite sayings, along with the interpretation :)
Blake Says:
"I think they are doing it by their selsses"
Interpretation: He says this when he is trying to go #2 on the Potty and he knows he is about to be successful

Blake Says:
"Daddy, why you have clothes in yours pants?"
Interpretation: He has a hard time understanding that boxers are underwear. He truly thinks Tim is just wearing extra clothes in his pants.

Blake Says:
"I'm sick, my tummy hurts, hahscream make me feel better"
Interpretation: He thinks if he pretends to feel sick maybe I will cave and let him have some icecream, but I am so on to him!

Blake says:
"Guys, I think you need to get me new underpants"
Mom says: "Blake, did you pee in your underpants?"
Blake: "No, I just need some new ones"
Interpretation: Ok, do I really need to interpret this, he peed in his underpants, but doesn't want to admit it. It has happened a few times this week right in front of the toilet!!

Bryce, meanwhile, doesn't have a whole lot to say beside NO, Uh-Oh, Stop, Night-Night, Mom, DaDa, Milk, Up, Down, Num-Nums. He doesn't have to do much talking because Blake talks for him all the time. Blake will say, "We don't want to go to the store . . . We don't want to have a snack . . . We want to go outside" He always includes Bryce in his own personal requests and protests. That's what big brother are for, right??
