WHAT??!!

This CRAZY baby of ours thinks he's just going to blow through all his baby milestones at mach speed, but let me tell you he's NOT going to get away with it. NOPE, this Mom wants the last baby to take it nice and slow so we can cherish all these baby moments. So, I had a talk with him last night and he seemed to respond well to my requests . . . ugh, I wish :(
This picture is funny, but really sums him up . . . wild man

As I was watching him play he turned and gave me this smirk (insert Mommy voice saying, Awww, Hi Baaaby, you're such a cute boy . . . don't make fun all Moms do it)

When all of the sudden he pulls up on his hands and knees and starts CRAWLING . . . backwards. WHAT??!! Who does he think he is? He's not even 5 Months yet and he's blatantly ignoring my pleas for him to stay a baby FOREVER!

There he goes, practically walking out the door moving away to college and marrying some hoochy mama girl who doesn't like me . . . I'm never going to see my son again.
OK, a bit dramatic, I agree, but the writing is on the wall people!
I really am proud of you Max, but my heart aches to watch these special baby moments fly by. I honestly wanted my 3rd baby to be layed back , not walk til he's 2, and be a snuggly little Momma's boy! Not Max, he's doing everything EARLY at an attempt to keep up with his big brothers. Good for you Max, sad for your Mom.

Love you, Taylor Lynne

My best friend's daughter, Taylor (also my God daughter), is a pink-loving, girly girl who is 5 going on 18 . . . seriously. I love her to pieces and she is exactly what this mother of 3 boys needs in her life :) She came over to play with the boys on Sunday, but after she had Blake and Bryce playing house for a while she just needed some baby love and Rachie time, YAY!!!
She is such a little Mommy
*She asked me to get a picture with her so I could put it on my blog :)
Love you Tay Tay xo

Read, Rock, and Roll

READ
Blake has finally taken an interest in reading and we are very proud of what he has accomplished in a short time. He thinks it's so cool to be able to read to his brothers and his cousin Quinn

What do you think about that book, Quinn?
I think it was a hit! Quinn is so cute and growing up so fast, we just Love him!!!

ROCK
Our little rocker boy
Rock on, Max

ROLL
My Mom and I took Bryce shopping with us last week and he insisted on trying on some pants he found . . . size too short with pleats that come around the corner before he does
When he came out of the dressing room it became clear that crop pants are simply not a good look for boys . . . neither is going sockless in the middle of a Michigan winter!
I was practically rolling on the floor laughing, but Bryce didn't find any humor in the situation. Oh, I love that boy.

Free Ride

We are Catholic, Tim since infancy and me since April 2005, and the most common question to a Catholic during this time is "What did you give up for Lent?" The concept is simple: we should deprive ourselves of something to remember the deprivation Jesus felt those 40 days and 40 nights in the desert. I had been thinking over the last few weeks about something meaningful I would "give up", but couldn't come to a decision.
As I drove to work this morning I heard a song on the radio that really put things into perspective. I was tired and irritable after waking several times in the night with Max and really not wanting to go to work when the words of this song woke me up: "My best friend gave me the best advice, each day is a gift and not a given right . . . Don't take a free ride in your own life."
I realized that I often take my own life and all it entails completely for granted. SO many people would give anything to have a baby to wake up to and a great job to go to. Some people aren't even physically able to get out of bed. I am fortunate to have many blessings in my life.
So, what will I give up for Lent? I give up my free ride. I give up taking my life for granted.
I will spend these days focusing on being grateful and appreciative.

Max's 4 Month Check Up

Little man Max saw the Doctor today for his 4 Month check up: he weighs 17lbs and is 28 inches long. That puts him in the 95th percentile for weight and well above the 95th percentile for height.
Our guy is busy spending his days rolling, still drooling, laughing, scooting, and now sitting for several minutes by himself.
No matter how we lay him down he immediately flips to his belly, then gets up on his hands with his back arched.

His toes are still his favorite play toys
He likes to sit like a big boy and usually lasts for several minutes until he gets too excited and tips over

If you recall his destructive behavior on his play mat, he has now taken it to a whole new level. He literally takes the thing apart. Might be time to put it away.

Yup, it's definitely time to put it away. This would only happen to a third child :)
After taking it apart he rolled with it and realized he had gotten himself into a bit of a situation. No worries, Mommy rescued him and all was well . . . and the play mat is now in the basement storage room! It was fun while it lasted.
Max is an active, healthy, happy 4 Month old baby who's only issue is that he has some eczema.
We are so BLESSED!

Bryce is Planning his Future

While riding in the car Bryce and I have a simple yet entertaining conversation:
Bryce: "Mom, I know what I want to be when I grow up!"
Me: "What did you decide?"
Bryce: "A co-worker".
Me: "That's great news Bryce" . . . hey at least he wants to work!

Lovin' on the Bros

Max seriously LOVES his big brothers more than you would think at the tender age of 4 Months. He especially loves to grab them by the face and give them what we like to affectionately call kisses.
Max lovin on his Blakey

Brycie's turn to play kissy face
He loves his brother so much he wants to EAT him
We love having 3 boys!!!
